They should at least release a "Marias Pass Asset Pack", there are so many routes that have MP as a dependency.

?? in what incarnation ?? single .ap file or a folder full of subdirectories and files?

When I browse the Train Simulator - Properties DLC tab it lists: 'Train Simulator: Marias Pass' which I presume is the RSC\MariasPass folder and its contents. No .ap pack in my fresh TS2016 install from last September.

CSX ES44AC Add On Livery, SD70 V2 Loco Add - On, SW 1500 Switcher, Marias Pass, GP9 Loco Add On. If you scroll down the page to About This Content, the first line says, This DLC is only available to purchase in the USA. That DLC is what pops up when I type BNSF into the search box. I have come across other DLC which cannot be purchased outside the USA as well.
Stevens Pass and the EMD SD75 SF which I have don't show up in the store at all for me.

I believe him to be talking about the stuff in the asset folder. If they left the rail vehicles out there would be no mention of the railroad that can't be named.

What about setting up a proxy server in the US. Don't ask me how that is done as I don't know. I have heard of people doing this when buying downloadable movies which you couldn't get in our country.

I suspect this getting close to being a rule breaking thread, most boards have a clause about discussing software piracy, which this is somewhat akin too.

Just saying.

Meanwhile, yes I was referring to buildings, signs, animals, vegetation, etc. models which unless one of them is branded somehow ( like a depot with the BNSF logo) would enable OTHER routes that use those assets to work outside the USA without breaking the laws governing the use of the BNSF name and logo.

I am not suggesting any violation of any sort. I'm suggesting that DTG could do this as a modest cost DLC and it's a way around the railroad who's name is not to be mentioned by just offering a asset package that allows one to get the Marias Pass items to use for other routes.

Apart from the locomotives and rolling stock, there isn't anything with a BNSF brand logo applied to it, many of us have already established this fact several months ago when this problem was discovered........However, in fairness, it might be implausible for DTG to send another pack to Steam, minus the locomotives and rolling stock, as they possibly may reject the idea because they wouldn't want to be seen getting involved with the BNSF licence issue.
Of course, this is still Payware and DTG still have to sell this package somehow, they can't give it away, that'll set a precedent, if they charge everyone the usual price, folks will then moan that as it doesn't contain any locomotives and wagons, why hasn't the price been reduced.....I can't see this licence problem being sorted out, any time soon.

To be honest I don't exactly know what assets were used in the freeware route offerings, that may be present in other route packs, such as Sherman Hill, could this be investigated ?

I just took a quick look at the asset folder for Marias Pass and indeed a lot of the assets are from Sherman Hill.

Next step from DTG: remove Marias and Stevens installations from non-US users, who got it before restriction was in effect *!greengrin!*

is it technically possible?

Furthermore why would they want to do that? The transactions all took place before the problem whatever it is came up.

Just out of curiosity, how hard is it to reskin Marias Pass Rolling stock?
If they started issuing it without the BNSF trademarks, can someone even reskin this stuff?
