MDurdan is making an SD60E, so you don't have to wait on RSC

I believe that Mike works for RSC actually..... Would this mean that the SD60E would be released as a DLC item?

I think to phrase this correctly you should say Mike does work for RSC not that he works for them.

Guessing that's what you meant Buzz. It would be a cool addition to have the SD60E for this route.

Just been having a discussion about the length of this route over at TS. Going on what DTG have announced, West Brownsville to Waynesburg is only around 22 miles, unless there are any extra bits included.

Not saying that's necessarily bad especially if quality makes up for quantity and there are some reasonable US assets. However even at US freight speed it's not going to take long to get from one end to the other.

Route is short, but I guess that speed limit is like 20 MPH, especially in Brownswille city limits.

They claimed it will include Manor Branch.
If so, it includes some scenic stretches with very tight curves and low speed limit.
I'm pretty sure I want to drive a train through such a beautiful scenery!

Posted by Gary Dolzall (9340 Points) on 5/18/2014 12:09:57 PM As stated below, the line is not 27 miles. It is more like 50 miles. Brownsville to Waynesburg is 27 miles, the Manor branch is another 15 miles, and there is additional trackage on the east side of the river, including the run down to Alicia. -

As was stated (and shown) in the DTG Engine Driver article announcing the route, it includes the mainline portion from Brownsville to Waynesburg, plus the full Manor Branch (to Bailey Mine), plus a portion of the MGA's old Eastern Division down to Alicia. Therefore:

- West Brownsville to Waynesburg Junction: 28 route miles
- Waynesburg Jct to Bailey Mine (Manor Branch): 15 route miles
- Eastern Division, Brownville to Alicia or beyond: 5+ route miles
Total: 48+ route miles (probably easily 50+ miles with additional yard trackage, etc.)

It's nice that Dovetail is doing a local route, but why is every thing have to be modern day? Why not actually model the Monongahela before it was merged into Big Blue?

Why not model the line when the GE Super 7's reigned supreme and the GP38's were running out their last miles.

When the bay window cabooses were still new and the cupola cabooses were being side lined.

Back when the Dum-Dum (nickname given to the UDM unit train. UDM was the train symbol for the Detroit Edison Unit Train) was running the Manor Branch to the Baily Mine? There were actually two sets of this train.

Just a thought?

Modern day is where the money is at. If I had to take a guess, most people that play TS don't even remember those days and they're most interested in modern day trains that they are familiar with. We already have one old PA route and we don't need another. It's about time we got a modern NS route.
