Are you using a HUD version as the second (AI) loco? It doesn't work if the AI engine is an Advanced version.

I've tried it now with two double-headed consists, the first with a HUD+HUD, the second with a Adv-HUD. They both worked perfectly.

Here's a shot of the Adv+HUD in action:

I've also tried it with an entirely AI consist (HUD+HUD) and that worked flawlessly too (and the sound of the double-header going past was awesome!).

Only 33 percent more tonnage with a doubleheader. *!!wink!!*

I've been doing hud+hud setup, I'll try it out this weekend to see if it works.

I've just remembered something important. The original release didn't support double-heading. The AI loco would skid along, just as you described. That was fixed in one of the patches not long after the initial version. So I have to ask, have you disabled automatic updates? If you've never allowed the FEF to be updated, you won't get the benefit of all the fixes and enhancements I've done several times since the loco first came out. There's actually yet another such patch about to be released (it's currently with DTG QA) that will make a big improvement to the smoke and sound (it's the patch that I already posted here at RWA at the end of last month, so you can actually get it already, but it has to be applied to the fully updated FEF).

I will slip this in here..
Thanks for the Connie update - really is my favourite loco. I can just about manage to get done what I want, although I do still head into emergency brake application every now and again *!lol!*

Thanks Grant! I'm glad that people appreciate how I keep the Connie up-to-date :D I'll probably send the patch to DTG soon, for release on Steam, and once that happens, I'll update all the reskins.

My UP FEF-3 has been updated through Steam just a few moments ago.

That's right, I was just about to post something to let everyone know that the public beta patch I uploaded here is now the official patch released on Steam ... amazingly quick by DTG!

You can uninstall the patch you got from here (just delete all the folders that it created alongside the .ap files), so as to be sure to have the absolute latest version (for the Steam patch, I did one last tweak to the sounds at low speed with short cutoff).

With that, and at the risk of being proved wrong in the future, I do believe that the FEF-3 is finally finished! The smoke was the bit I was always less than 100% satisfied with, but this patch is by far the best smoke I've ever done, so I'm happy with it :D

Any plans to convert her for Train Sim World in the future? You used Amaribilis 3DCreator IIRC? Does that program even have the required export functions?

The Connie, FEF-3 and Jupiter were all done almost entirely in 3DC. Unfortunately it doesn't have exporters for TSW. Besides, I suspect it'll be a long time before DTG do a steam loco or give us the tools to make 3rd party content, so I'm sticking with TS (and 3DC) for the foreseeable future.

Yes, I am afraid that is true. I wonder, how long the UK train simmers are willing to wait for their large number of lovely and beautiful steam locomotive DLC to appear in TSW. One can stand only so much of those plastic look-a-like DMU and EMU .... *!!wink!!*

That will be excellent. The plain unlined weathered will be just perfect for an upcoming route !!*ok*!!

Following on from Edwins post, it is going to be interesting to see the longevity of this one route at a time. No tools, no scenerio creation, no re-skins or weathering and 6 months or so wait till the next route release. Still, its their money !*roll-laugh*!

*!!thnx!!*

Intriguing! Is it a route you're making? Or a DTG route I haven't yet heard about? Steam era (one can dream)?
