i wonder if back in the day, if a very ornamental part was damages, (EX. 119's paintings on tender back,119's bell holder, jupiter's pinstriping and filligree painting.) would it be replaced with something simple like standard paint or angle iron, or would they make a whole new ornamental piece/filligree lining?. just wonderin'. !!det!! !!jabber!!

funny thing is, on this engine, texturing might be just as hard as the geometry! !*roll-laugh*!

if all you people are going to complain, fine, i'll shut up completely. it seems mike is the only person that values my opinion.

TheEmmaSweeny1 wrote:heres how the jupiter looked when originally delivered to the golden spike site. Note different pilot, cab, steam dome, sand dome, and headlight. the paint scheme was also different.

ps: hey Mike, although not prototypical, you should also make one with a standard US coupler(just on back of tender, keep the one on the pilot), not just a link and pin version (you would probably sell more copies, as it would appeal to more people.)Image

Sorry mike! i tearned that the locomotive i showed you was actually V&T Inyo. i had a funny feeling they wouldn't have changed something as big as the drivers. !!**sorry**!! !!**sorry**!! !*roll-laugh*! !!bang!!

Ah, that explains it. Actually, I was reading yesterday about the many and various locos that have stood in as "Jupiter" in movies as well as at Golden Spike reenactments before the replica Jupiter was built, so there are some odd photos out there *!lol!*

wouldn't it be easier to temporarily texture the glass, (cab windows, headlight,)now so you could see inside? **!!2cents!!** !!det!!

The Railworks shaders (the procedures that give textures their properties, such as transparency) don't work in 3DCrafter's own 3D renderer. You only see the effect of the shaders when the objects are rendered by the TS game engine.

oh. all that went rigt over my head **!!bang!!** !DUH! . once i tried a reskin. even that was too difficult for my fragile mind !*roll-laugh*!. either way, it's funny when you can build better locomotives than a large company, with plenty of connections, rescources, and designers, and they have better programs. figure that one out! !*don-know!* !*roll-laugh*!

Lots and lots more besides that *!lol!*

Let's see ...

Spring rigging, feedwater pump, check valve, handrails, grab irons, steps, pulling bar, the entire tender, cylinder oilers (the ones that sit on top of the steam chests), smokestack handhole, runboard brackets, cylinder cocks and all their control linkages, ash pan, plus what you mentioned above, and plenty more.
