I know I won one of these "stand alone", but I couldn't wait, and pulled the trigger the night it came out! GREAT work my friend! I fire locomotives, and this, along with the "Connie", are my two most favorite models. You should not have to "freebee" me, with all the work that goes into this type of model! Maybe you can send a "grey ghost" one my way sometime! LOL! Or have you thought about the original six axle tender? These locomotives open up endless possibilities with Sherman Hill.... and they will separate the "railroaders" from the "I wanna just drive a train" guys.... By the way....we run trains....not "drive" them! :) Thanks again! GREAT WORK!!

Oh my goodness! *!lol!*

As it happens, I've been working on the 6-axle water car for the last few days (in between answering many messages on Facebook). That would make a nice substitute prize, together with the Overland liveries once they are out (I don't know why DTG haven't released them already - i finished them at the same time as the main package).

Yep, I always make a point of saying "running the 844" *!!wink!!*

Cheers,

Mike

Yes, but it's modelled the way it was before WRC did the conversion to increase the capacity - they took out the fuel heating elements and changed the shape of the ends. I'm doing it the way it is now and in high detail.

Great loco Mike! !!*ok*!!
Having fun running the different versions. (HUD vs ADV etc.) Anyway. Not to tie up your thread with questions but would like to know if there is a way to remove the Mars light with your codes. "XXX-842842X Mars Light is removed" as you state under auto numbering. Last digit X Mars light still appears. Am I missing something?

Strange, it works for me:

I simply copied your code and pasted it into the number:

XXX-842842X

Are you sure it's typed in exactly like that?

Figured it out. It doesn't work on the HUD version but works for the Adv. !**conf**!

It may be easier, but you are unworthy if you can't run the Adv. *!lol!* I wouldn't have it any other way!

I've really been enjoying 844, attached are a few screenshots from the romp I took her on yesterday from Cheyenne to Laramie and back again.

This is one of the very few locomotives that actually can get me to shut off the HUD and spend most my time in the cab view. The in-cab experience is almost exactly identical to that of an actual steam locomotive, only major component of that experience missing is the chat and banter among your fellow crewmen. This thing is simply terrific! I can most certainly see myself buying the Marketplace accessories.

*!lol!* I've actually been running the Adv more and more and even doing an impressive job without the auto fireman. !!*ok*!! Keeps you busy it does. *!!wink!!*
This is the greatest thing that's happin to this game for a long time. Really am having a blast with this loco! Well worth the wait. !*cheers*!

It's great to see that you're all enjoying this one :D

I check the forums (here and elsewhere) every day to see what people are saying about it (and to look for any problems anyone has that I can help them solve) and so far it's all been positive.

and now ...

Tip of the day:

The wind on some routes, such as Sherman Hill, needs to be fixed, but in the meantime, if you find that the smoke and steam blows at 90 degrees to the loco (or worse, blows forwards!) even when the loco is speeding along, a workaround is to edit the scenario and change the weather to "0. Default". You can do this in QD too. In QD, there's no scenario icon to click on, but if you simply move the mouse cursor over to the right, the scenario details fly-out will appear. Then you can change the weather, save it and play it immediately as usual.
