I'm not going to lie, I am actually pretty excited to download this beautiful locomotive. I haven't bought DLC or played TSxx in a long time, even after a new computer, this has gotten me back into the mood. Thanks mrennie!

p.s. Pennsy Steam needs your representation! wink wink...

Best Regards,
Cat

Well... the last two are for American railroads, so I wouldn't blame you a bit Mike, if you decided to do a British or other project next.

Ah yes, but, while there are many fish in the pond, it's a big pond to fill.

Being the adventurous type when it comes to running steam, I hopped right into the engineer's seat of the advanced version with nothing more between my ears than a little real world observation and experience with the Consolidation. I prefer to leave firing to the specialists, so Ted kept things covered on that end. Meanwhile I started touching things in the cab and managed to move 844 and her 20 car train. after puttering back and forth a little and finding I hadn't turned the compressors on I had it straight enough to hit the road. As of now I've successfully run 844 across the Castle Rock railroad and am still learning the ins & outs of the engine. I'm getting the feel for her though, kinda learning by the seat of my pants if you will.

Let me say this though, the FEF3 handles superbly, I once rode standing in the cab of a much smaller steamer and I kept an eye on the gauges while we did a photo runby. Mr. Rennie, you have the steamchest simulations down perfectly! The model is second to none. This is without a doubt the best $20 I've ever spent on a DLC.

Amazing work my good sir!

!*salute*!

IM SO HAPPY! This locomotive is everything I thought it would be, and then some. I have played it in advanced with me doing the firing. A pleasant challenge. I thought that keeping the boiler pressure up would be the hard part. I was Wrong. It is trying not to slip the drivers! Getting going from a stand still has been a formidable challenge. One way of getting it going is to put about 4 notches in on the throttle, and as soon as the steam chest comes up start reducing the reverser. It has worked for me so far (probably wrong though). In time I will have it figured out correctly. Oh and yes on grades I am challenged to keep the boiler pressure up.

All that said I love this locomotive! Thank you Smokebox for making this a reality. Now if you were to "happen" to make a Christmas Polar Express themed edition, I would most certainly acquire that too.

Since everyone else gave there **!!2cents!!** on what to do next I guess I will fall in line and do the same. Narrow Gauge Colorado steam locomotive(s). If you decide to make it somebody will most certainly do Chama to Antanito route. Just throwing that out there. But hay, I couldnt be happier with this locomotive. With that said Ive got some reading to do.

Or, have you considered - we have a lot of German routes and not many German steamers? I know of only 3, with another one well under way

I'm happy too :D

Manual firing is very tricky, so kudos to you for having a go!

I'm not sure what I'll do next, but I know one thing for certain ... I'll have a rest first!

I had a chance to use the HUD version yesterday and did a short run on RW&A. Even the HUD is a challenge to get started without slipping the wheels. It's a beautiful model - now I just need the time to read the manual and learn how to drive the non "toy" version lol. In the mean time the HUD will have to do.

Excellent work - worth every penny and then some.
