Not to go off topic, but would the trucks for the type of cars UP uses with the FEF-3 be four-axles or six-axles?

The streamlined lightweight cars have 4-wheel trucks but the water cars have 6-wheel trucks made by General Steel Castings (GSC), although the first five tenders on the FEF-1 (which were later recycled for use as fuel tanks and water cars) had a different design of Buckeye truck.

Surely this must be a record - 79 1/2 forum pages and the subject of the adoration and drooling hasnt even been released yet. *!lol!*

Prepare to hit triple figures reasonably soon...

Mike; what is next for you (and us?)

!*cheers*!

The wait is nearly over and to get you in the mood, a couple of home videos ...

Next up is the water car (the auxiliary water tender) UPP814 "Joe Jordan". After that, I'm really not sure, but I'll start another topic when I've got something to show.

!*cheers*!

Mike

P.S. The videos are on YouTube and my Facebook.

Mike, I think nearly everyone is "in the mood" already!

Love that "in cab" video. There's a lot to keep track of. Are you opening and closing all the valves to show which are operable or is exercising the valves part of the start up procedure?

This is going to be great fun! !*cheers*!

Now you are just showing off !*roll-laugh*!

Well, that's me done for the afternoon, I have some video's to watch and watch. Do love the new cab-views. You have definitely set a new standard and a benchmark that will be difficult to equal.

Thanks for the video shares...

!*cheers*!

That's the start -up procedure, almost. I didn't need to use the reverse sander but did it just to show that it works too. I also turned on the forward sander but then turned it off on purpose because I wanted to show some wheel slip. There are two more valves I didn't show - the defroster (it works!) and the emergency steam for the power reverse gear (the valve turns but doesn't do anything).

I can hear the screams of rage from those who refuse to read the manual and therefore cannot make it move already.... oh well their loss...

Meanwhile, I'm over here waiting for the N-Scale 844 to destroy my wallet. And people wonder why I don't own any live steam stuff. . .

I guess this year will be 844-Tastic.
