I like 'em all, so it would come down to which one had more material. If I had the drawings for both, but more photos of one than the other, the one with the pics would win

I know, I'm joking. GN hasn't been done extensively at all so it would be neat to see on Maria's even. *!!wink!!*

Guys can we start a new thread if we are going to go off on future projects and leave this one for the 2-8-0?

Although I'm enjoying the conversation, I second Buzz's request.....I keep getting my hopes up for new screen shots! *!lol!*

I started a new thread: http://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=7108#p76739

I'll keep this one going for news about the Consolidation, and the new one I linked to is for "life after the Consolidation".

Oh, the old WIP thread has sort of become obsolete because of this current one, yes.

A question about tenders ....

I noticed that the PRR K4 has a pink/red colour for the horizontal surfaces. Was that something only the PRR did, or is it standard for all US steam locomotives? I've made mine a shade of grey, with a lot of weathering, but I want to get it right if I can.

If you do decide to include the radio, don't forget to put in a call for Foreman Dan Hernandez, everyone's favorite RSC personality.

If it were up to me, he'd have been given forced, early retirement ages ago.

Actually, wouldn't it be nice if they could get in touch with him and do an interview. I wonder if he knows he's famous? It'd be great to hear from the real guy :D

Very good question! I'm testing it right now on a run from Altoona with a 20 car consist. On the 1.8% grade she slows down to about 7 MPH, but I managed to get to the tunnel without stopping and once through, got up to around 45 MPH on the downhill. She has such tiny driving wheels (40") that at the speed, the motion is going like the clappers, and the time between exhaust beats is extremely short. These were built like that for hauling freight, with plenty of traction (8 driving wheels) but weren't intended to go as fast as a locomotive meant for passenger work. So, do you reckon 50-60MPH is a reasonable maximum? I've put 80 km/h (about 50MPH) in the blueprint.
