Right.
I bought the ES44AC reskin just now and the ditch lights that do not work is in the YN3b variant.
In the YN3 variant do work.

I think the problem lies in the YN3b .GeoPcDx file.

The light emitters come on allright, only the lamp/corona/halo nodes that represent the lighted ditchlights don't work. There must be some problem with the shapefile, nodes, script, naming between them? Lack of quality control, again!
The YN3b.GeoPxDx file is smaller than the YN3, so some nodes are different or missing.
On my YN3b the rear truck's wheels don't turn.
Something is wrong with that variant I think. !*not-ok*!

$5 ?
I paid for it less than $3 (€1.99, to be exact). *!greengrin!*

I bought them first day to run over the COARW and paid full price, still cheap of course. But one should demand 100% quality from a commercial enterprise like DTG.

Anyway, I've fixed the rear truck wheels by renaming the nodes to bo02 in the shapefile. Both YN3 and YN3b models use the same trucks, so the animated nodes should be named the same also.

Now I must sort out the ditchlight nodes, cab switch levers, couplers and the cab numbers' font.
On first count, the YN3b shape file seems to be missing 'ditch_light_R' and _L nodes, which I presume are the lighted lamps.
And no, swapping the shape files doesn't work as the numbers, markings and logos are defined as decals specific to that shape file.

There seem to be more nodes that can be animated, the cab windows for instance or the mirrors. Anybody knows how to?

Sharing a shape file is not permitted, unfortunately.

You can open the ES44_CSX_YN3b.geopcdx file with RW_Tools and make the changes yourself.
First unpack the ES44AC_pack01_CSX_YN3Assets.ap file into the set of folders that make up this resource.
Use CTRL+O from the Files menu of RW_Tools and open the EX44_CSX_YN3b.GeoPcDx file.
Scroll down or "find" the end of the <TransformName> section, about 3900 lines down from the top (the file is huge!)
Just above the </TransformName> section end marker are four lines which contain "bo003", "bo02wh004, 005 and 006. Change these to "bo02", "bo02wh01, -02, -03" like the front bogie lines just above, which read "bo01".
The final lines of said section should look like this:
Code: Select all
   <TransformName>
      ..
      ..
      <e d:type="cDeltaString">bo01</e>
      <e d:type="cDeltaString">bo01wh01</e>
      <e d:type="cDeltaString">bo01wh02</e>
      <e d:type="cDeltaString">bo01wh03</e>
      <e d:type="cDeltaString">bo02</e>
      <e d:type="cDeltaString">bo02wh01</e>
      <e d:type="cDeltaString">bo02wh02</e>
      <e d:type="cDeltaString">bo02wh03</e>
   </TransformName>

Save and close the file, clear .pak cache and restart Railworks.
Sometimes you have to delete the YN3b engines from your scenario and put them down anew for the scenario to reset itself.
The rear truck wheels should now be turning.

The YN3b has broken switches in the cab, still a four digit place holder for the cab numbers (so they are out of center besides from being in the wrong typeface) and the ditchlight coronas are missing from the shape file. Bad job, RSC!

I actually like the way they put down the four digit numbers for the YN3b, Then I can run those YN3b's in the 3000 series. :)

Hi Folks

Glad to see you're all enjoying the two CSX liveries - we worked hard on them but it certainly looks like a couple of gremlins slipped through the cracks. I'll get someone on to it on Tuesday.

Just a note about digits - this is by design, since most YN3B liveried loco's have four digits we opted to have four on the YN3B and three on the YN3.

Hope you're having a great Easter!

Cheers,
Matt @ DTG

Thanks, Matt, for chiming in.

Please have those errors and omissions corrected. We would be much obliged.

CSX has a large roster of ES44DC, ES44AC and ES44AH models. Technically, CSX 700-949, 950-999, 3000--3064, 3065-3149 are ES44AH models.
ES44AH differ from ES44AC models by their greater weight (432000 lbs, 196 metric tons), 20% higher TE per traction motor (36000 lbs) with special software, compressed air railhead cleaners in their self-steering high adhesion trucks. (http://www.thedieselshop.us/CSX.htm)

why does it say at the steam store that these were released back in January 1 2009? Didn't these just come out?

I noticed that too. My guess is they made a duplicate of the steam page for the bnsf locos, then edited it to suit these CSX locos instead of writing a whole new page? Just a thought.
