That said, the game's auto fireman is rubbish. It's obvious that Kuju knew that their auto-fireman can't keep the boiler pressure up, because (and this is from my own observations of what happens in the game) they must have hard-coded it so that when the boiler pressure drops to 65% of the maximum, it artificially stops falling.

It was/ is the same in MSTS with regard to the auto fireman and boiler pressure so i would say that he is a carry over from MSTS that or the guy who coded him was reponsible for creating the code for Railsim and decided to use the same general approach

The whole steam "system" is a carry over from MSTS, though they did not do it well, when you see some details like the F5 versions.
It is the core scripting system that makes a big difference, when you look into locomotives like the FEF-3 and the Consolidation.

The updated manual is in the File Library:

http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/download-library/accessories?view=document&id=1923:at-n-connie-updated-manual-oct-15-2015&catid=24:accessories

It's actually not the absolute final version - I added a few more bits after uploading this one and before sending it to DTG last night - but it does have all the important stuff about the brakes.

Latest upgrade has been released on Steam

Unread postby mrennie » Wed Nov 25, 2015 3:03 pm

The upgrade for the Connie went live on Steam this evening.

All the upgrades I posted to the file library here at RWA (October and November) are obsolete, so you should go into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\Smokebox\Consolidation and delete everything except for ConsolidationAssets.ap.

When I get time, I'll update all the extra liveries currently in the file library (they won't work properly at the moment because of all the changes introduced into the engine bin files).

I need to get the "connie", aren't you making a upgrade for the FEF-3 also, and what is the progress on that?

*sigh* I know but I can't wait for it, it's gunna have an animated bell clapper and other things. And asking questions is not a bad thing, it's not like I'm posting "so ya almost done" everyday, this is like the one time I'm asking

The FEF-3 upgrade is finished and is being processed by DTG, so it shouldn't be long.

Hi.

Is anyone else having a problem with the tender light not sticking? It only stays on if I hold the keys down. Using the switch or keyboard does not work.

Yes, I introduced a bug into the Advanced version's tender light - it's already been spotted and I sent a hotfix (re-inserting one line into the engine script) to DTG a few days ago. It should be patched very soon.
