I am going to move this to the RSC forum since it appears o be headed that way. I am not sure what anyone is getting at here.

Yeah, I noticed that right after I posted and edited it. I don't see it there still. Thanks, though.

I know that RSC will not be bothered by my not being able to use Workshop, and that this is not a huge deal in the overall scheme of things, but I do think their support is miserable. I wouldn't mind so much if they just said we're not going to do it no matter how good your arguments are that we should. What really bothers me is their specious arguments. Their response after the above was that I need to contact GTrax to redress this, when they know that nothing GTrax can do will redress it. Only they can, and they clearly won't.

I'll try to keep that in mind. *!!wink!!*

I guess what else peeves me about this is that these locos were made and sold to help support an organization that maintains the real world counterparts. No one was making money off these. It was a labor of love. I'm not quite certain RSC is still sending the profits from sales to those organizations. If not, then I certainly don't want to pay for it again. If they are, I might. Of course, I'm not holding my breath to find out from them.

I'm no RSC basher, as anyone can tell from my participation over the past. I understand it's a business, and that they are never going to be able to offer everything that enthusiasts like us want to have the way we want to have it. But when they issue DLC that doesn't work the way THEY say it will, and don't fix it, or take forever, and when they make changes in the sim that break DLC, and don't fix it or take forever, that's bad support. There are very good people working for RSC making incredible products, both in house and as "affiliates." It's RSC support, and their support alone, that I believe falls far below the industry standard and which appears to me not to be a concern for them at all. Frustrating.

Rick sold the rights to RSC and took that money and donated it to the respective charities. The sales had become so slow it wasn't worth it anymore.

Yes, I saw Rick's message about this on his website a while back. So, I bought some DLC that benefits charity, and now the same DLC I already bought is for sale on RSC and their attitude is forget those charities, pay them again if I want to fully use it. Does that sum it up?

This is a recording. If you don't like it don't buy it. Show them.

Buzz, I already bought it. I'm just wanting what I bought to work fully.

Look, I know it's not the end of the world that I won't be able to use Workshop scenarios with it unless I do some finagling of my own. And you won't find a single complaint from me about paying again for any other of their recent "updated" DLC. If I don't want to, I don't. If I do, I do. I'm not complaining about that now. I have no intention of buying it again. Never did. I can't even think of this as updated DLC. It's the one I have. Maybe the light is different, but surely you're not going to consider that an update. As I've said, this is about their attitude, about their specious arguments, and about poor support. It rankles me. Don't lump me in with any others with other concerns. If you want to lump me, lump me with Mike of RW_Tools who was also rankled by the tone and content of support emails about his software. "IF you don't like it, don't buy it" doesn't speak to either of our concerns.

It's also not like I think anything will change. But I also think that poor customer support deserves a public airing.

It doesnt work now? Or no Steam Workshop? I don't beleive there was a Steam Workshop when you bought it eh?

Then telling RSC their support is digusting probably really makes them want to help you a lot. If you would have said that to me I would have completely ignored you.

So it all boils down to you did not buy it from RSC and they are not supporting the version you have from G-Trax. So you are stuck with what you have.

And I see no need for this to go on any further as you keep repeating yourself. It is not a perfect world all the time.
