could someone explain me why DTG numbers are not from 8000 to 8308 according to Jeff Wilson's "model railroader's guide to Diesel Locomotives"

The current loco numbers for the Union Pacific EMD SD9043MAC are 3484 to 3777 and 8146 to 8196 (according to Trains Magazine roster).

Do you know how to change the numbers if you are not happy? It takes all of two minutes.

Fan Railer's mod does have a number dcsv that adds the as built numbering range...keep that in mind
