Yes, I already verified my cache and it fixed all the broken files, and yet it still crashes when I try to launch TS2014, I just get a black screen and that's it.

This sounds like the 'missing flash player crash' problem.
Try running the flash player 11 installer which can be found in your steam folder, normally here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Install\flashplayer11_5r502_110_winax.exe

But that's not the latest version of Flash. I installed the latest version and it's still crashing right at start-up.

Yep, me too. I updated it on day 2 - still hasn't worked at all.

Try what I suggest - I think you will find it works.

Install the Flash player ActiveX for Internet Explorer

How strange... suddenly, and without updating anything, we have lift-off!

It's probably one of those secret "Ninja" updates RSC likes to throw at us.

I suspect the flash player upgrade that you were missing was finally pushed out to your PC either by microsoft or adobe.
SHORTLINER - you may think you have the latest - but I suspect what you have is the latest stand alone flash player. What you need is the active-X flash player. The installer I pointed you to in my prior post will install this for you.

Well Adobe isn't letting me install it anyways, not the most current version.

As an information security guy, I'm glad to hear that.

Why? It means I can't play the game, which apparently relies on an outdated version of Flash Player.

No, I have the latest Flash player and RW runs just fine apart from a few quirks.
Installing Flash player ActiveX for Internet Explorer is what did the trick, and the -VC launch option, and finally running RW with LogMate and finding bad assets that made the sim crash.
What pleases me as a security guy is that the old, vulnerable version of Flash in the RW install folder refuses to install.

From the
Adobe Flash Player downloads page.
Get the one marked for Internet Explorer.
