HOW BIG IS RAILWORKS

I'm putting together a new pc. I might want to use an SSD for the Railworks sim so scenery can load quicker as I speed down the track. I also plan to make my own routes and modify routes that come with the sim.

Does anyone know how much space I should probably alocate for Railworks on an SSD?

I'll be using an i7 3930K CPU and a GTX Titan GPU. So do you even think I should bother putting Railworks on the SSD?

More than with a flight simulator, for me, a train sim should run with no stuttering or pausing if at all possible... like the way it felt to push a coach along the track of an HO model railroad layout in the old days when I used to live in the real world. :)

I'm @ 112gb but I have a lot of decals for routes on my machine right now (the one route I checked is 21gb of *.ace files) so....................

*&!welcome!&* , woowoo.

There has been much debate here about weather an SSD will cure the "stuttering" in TS. I and many others say, basically, no. SSD's are great for initial loading/ startup time, but with TS you will still have to put up with some stutter as the next tile loads. Lots of us here have experimented with SSD's, I tried a "REVO" drive which is a PCI-slot version of an SSD, and it helps load times, but I still get minor stutter. Price wise, it's gonna be expensive to get a large enough drive if you want to model your own routes and make modifications. Maybe 120Gb minimum, like RvA suggests.

I envy you having a Titan GPU. I would love to see how Folding @ Home would run on that card. !!*ok*!!
