ATI graphics cards

I am looking at replacing my existing graphics cards. This is what I have installed;
ATI Radeon HD 5450. 650 Mhz processor, 800 mhz memory, 4347 MB memory. PCI Express 2.0. Without the TSX checked I get good graphics but if TSX checked the frame rates bottom out.
I want to stay with ATI chipset card. What would be recommended in the price range of 100 to 150 dollars that would give me the power to run TSX and better frame rates?

Thanks,

Glenn

Are you saying that your CPU is only 650 Mhz?

The processor speed mentioned is the GPU speed (probably).

Not quite certain about the current price but I'm using an ATI 6870 / 1GB VRAM with reasonable results, TSX enabled with most settings at maximum in RW 2012.

A card with 2GB would probably be a bit better - more shapes bufferable.

You should also be certain your PCIx slot is actually running in 16bits mode and not switched to 8bit mode. Check your motherboard manual to see what conditions will switch it to 8bit mode (there are a few).

The latest couple ATI updates appear to have helped although there may have been a few RW patches that also helped, ATI CCC 11.12 was released a day or two ago.

Graphics card GPU at 650 Mhz. The slot is PCI Express 2.0 X 16.
I have 11.11 drivers installed on my 5450 right now.
