Scalable Link Interface

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger and buying a second graphics card for my computer and running SLI. Has anyone here done Crossfire or SLI, and if so, have you seen any performance increase in TS2012? I have seen posts on tech forums stating that if the game isn't optimized for it, then dual graphics solutions are a waste of money compared with a more expensive good single card.

Lots of posts about SLI over on the Steam Forum, and I read good results. But, you have to have two matching cards, and you have to create your own SLI profile for RW since the game itself doesn't support SLI.
As soon as I can afford (or even find) another GTX470, I'm gonna set up SLI.

Not sure what you mean by "it doesn't support SLI".
Games don't have to support it, the video driver takes car of it.
Game profiles in the Nvidia panel are the preferred way of using SLI.
Perhaps you mean you can't select SLI in the game options interface?

Yes, exactly. Meaning the game (sim) either does or does not have native SLI/ Crossfire support. As you said, you can always create you own profile for the game/ sim in the appropriate driver control panel for the card.

I think the guy who gave you flak in the Steam forum didn't understand that.

Since i'm in the middle of an upgrade cycle, and after reading up a bit more about it on the Steam and Nvidia site, i've decided to pair up a card identical to my existing graphics card in SLI. The build is now complete. In a couple of weeks, after everything has been tested and tweaked, i'll either be able to run TS2012 well at a consistent 30fps, or i'll be able to throw hexes and voodoo at RSC for releasing such a poorly optimized game engine. Here's hoping for the best!

I've got the graphics cards up and running, and SLI enabled in Window/Nvidia control panel.
I need to create a profile for Railworks. Which executable file do I create the profile for; Railworks.exe or the Proc.exe file?
BTW, being that it's not really a game, I didn't think 3DCrafter would be affected by SLI, but it runs quite well under two graphics cards.

The proc.exe one.
