I'm running Windows 11.

Unread postby trev123 » Tue Oct 26, 2021 8:08 pm

I have just updated to Windows 11 through the Windows Update. As with all new versions of Windows that I have installed, I don't expect any issues. I just use the OS as an operating system, playing games and browse the internet. I don't use any of the windows tools etc. So far everything that I normally use works. The layout is a bit different but I shall get used to it.

They are already talking about Windows 12 because of issues and changes people do not like.

I have no issues. Mind you after reading that there was an issue with the snipping tool which I don't use but tried it out and there was. An update has since fixed that. I think most issues are related to people using Windows 11 on low spec laptops. One site posted on FB that some people were having issues with file explorer when they opened it it was slowing their computers down but quite a few of us with fast computers replied that we had no such issues.

I don't know how a slow computer could qualify for win11? I have fairly good machines and Microdump tells me none of my computers qualify. This is so far kind of Vista 2.0.

For what reason do they not qualify, is it for TPM 2.0?

Buzz, not sure if this will help you or not but it explains how to turn on TPM on your motherboard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cc0QVDqcmc

What reason did it give for not being able to run?

If you go to the Windows Update page in settings it should say whether your computer is compatible or not. I know before I updated through Windows Update it did say something like your computer is compatible and you will get it when we have got it ready for you.

It says I have TPM 2.0 enabled and it still says it's not compatible. I think I have just about the same setup as you do. I un-installed the whole health check thing and then re-installed. This time it installed happy but still won't start from the short cut or the exe file. Time to go drive a train. !*not-ok*!
