The latest version is 21H1. I always run the latest versions of Windows 10 and I cannot remember if I have had any issues. I believe it is always good to keep up to date as usually the security has been updated for vulnerability.

you can check what version of Windows you have by typing winver in the Windows search box or (Windows key + S) then run command winver app. If you have 21H1 you are up to date and install the optional update. This is usually a good thing because these optional updates will fix issues.

I updated mine on Friday. All good. It is an optional update, even though mine was showing as being up to date. No noticeable changes, so I am thinking it all must have been in the engine bay.

It is going to be interesting to see what impact Windows 11 will have, particularly the vaunted inbuilt HDR for games.

!*cheers*!

oops: aren't going to need to bother wondering. PC, while reasonably new and a decent spec, doesn't have a secure boot chip, so it is not up-dateable. I guess that means a new pc in a couple of years *!sad!*

So I ran this thing and it told me I couldn't upgrade but near as I could tell it didn't tell me why I couldn't upgrade. This thing is going to be a bigger bomb than Vista if the micro geniuses think we're all going to run out and buy new computers for this wonderful upgrade.................
A new start menu meh. That's all we need.

Regarding Windows 11 this is what I have found. You can not run Windows 11, unless among other qualifications, use a qualified processor, qualified video card, use UEFI secured BIOS and with a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0. Example, my system meets all with the exception of a TPM module. On ASUS motherboards this is a plug in module either 14 or 20 pin (check your motherboard manual for module type) and is enabled in the BIOS. The current issue is when this was first rumored, people started hoarding these modules. Not many people installed them and there weren't many out there in the first place. Originally these sold for $11-$25 I now see these on eBay for over $100.00. My thoughts are not to worry or fret about it. Windows 10 will be supported and in time these modules will become available in quantity. For those who just gotta have it, good luck. When you run the compatibility software the items in blue need attention. Click on each of these items to see what is needed.
List of approved processors here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... quirements

EDIT: Suggestion, do a search for (your motherboard manufacturers name and model number) TPU 2.0, I found some MSI modules were available. You may want to get these early before price and availability change.
EDIT: B&H Photo is expecting them in 2-4 weeks. These are the ASUS TPM-M R2.0 version with 14 pins. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... odule.html
EDIT: Video requirements Graphics card: Compatible with DirectX 12 or later with WDDM 2.0 driver

Thank you. That answers my question. I had a TPM but the handle fell off. !*roll-laugh*! After I read about it I still didn't know what it did or does or whatever. From what I see 11 isn't going to do much for us users that aren't into all that touchy feely stuff anyway.

If there is some features that will enhance business stuff or our simulator I'd love to hear about it.

No, I cannot run it either and I have a 6-month-old computer. I need TPM 2.0 which can be turned on in the bios if your bios have it.
