Not responding after clicked TS-Tools program

Unread postby cnbalasub » Sun Apr 25, 2021 8:41 am

I have a question about " Not responding " on the program of TS-Tools and some other programs outside Train Simulator. What caused them with " Not responding " after clicked to launch the program of TS-Tools then " Edit Scenario " > Route name and Scenario name then wait for a few minutes like between 4 or more minutes before finally got the " Edit Scenario " page on the screen. I have been trying to find what is the real reason for this causing " Not responding " on my desktop with some of the programs. Is that something to do with Microsoft Windows 10 or not? Well mine is Windows 10 Professional 64-bit version.

Thank you,

John

I don't know why it would have anything to do with win10. I open TSTools click on Scenarios then edit scenarios choose one click on Edit Selected Scenario and it might take five seconds for it to open. I would open and look at the task manager to see what might be running to cause such a lag. That isn't normal.
Have you tried just a simple reboot and then try it again. Sometimes windows gets all kinds of programs running in the background that slows things up.

I have experienced delays doing exactly what you do, but never more than 30-60 seconds.

I would start by ensuring that your computer has no performance problems: sufficient free RAM, sufficient free space on disk, sufficient transfer rate for your disk, no encryption on disk, low fragmentation, etc.
I would quit other running programs and services as Buzz suggested, especially TS itself.
Maybe even boot WIndows in safe mode and try TS-Tools again.
I would reinstall TS-Tools and check local files for TS.

The bigger the scenario bin file the longer it takes to load into TS-Tools scenario editor. It's not an issue or defect just how the program reads through the scenario bin file. Using an SSD or Hard drive will effect the load times also.

Thanks to anyone who replied to my message. And what I did is to restart the desktop and launch the program of TS-Tools. It helped a bit not like before wait and wait before get into Scenario Editor.
