If you didn't get one today, then you will be waiting a while for stocks to replenish it seems.
The RTX 3070 seems to be the performance : value sweet spot right now in that lineup.

Title corrected. Having a senior moment. I won't be playing TS for some time as I'm back into Flight Simulators with MS FS 2020. I prefer Flight Simulators over Train Simulators any day and have had all of Microsofts flight simulators since FS 98.

Real time ray tracing?
Could our kind of games benefit from this technology?
Epic Games will no doubt implement it in UE4 or 5.

Ray Tracing enabled cards:
GeForce GTX 1660 Ti
GeForce GTX 1660
Nvidia Titan Xp (2017)
Nvidia Titan X (2016)
GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
GeForce GTX 1080
GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
GeForce GTX 1070
GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
I doubt if it ever will be implemented in TS.

I thought the GTX series of cards did not have ray tracing. If I recall that is only with the RTX series cards.

MAR 18
Nvidia announced today that it will release a driver in April that brings ray tracing effects to Pascal-based GTX graphics cards, including the GTX 1060, GTX 1070 and GTX 1080. ... Nvidia announced at GDC today (March 18) that its GTX graphics cards will start supporting DXR ray tracing this April via a driver download.

My GTX 1060 6 GB card can do Ray Tracing. I have the game Quake II RTX but it is a bit like a slideshow when playing it on my Intel 2500k CPU. I have sitting behind me on a table a new Intel i5 10600K CPU and an Asus TUF Gaming Z490-Plus Wi-Fi Motherboard and 16 GB of Corsair DDR4 3200 MHz ram. Just waiting for a mate to come round and put it all together.

Thanks, Pete. Looks very good. One of those cards cost more than what my new computer parts cost me. By the accent, I thought he was an Aussie but he lives in New Zealand.

The RTX cards have in addition to it's cuda cores, RTX cores and Tensor cores. Cuda cores are for your normal shading. RTX cores are for hardware accerated ray tracing. Tensor cores are for artificial intelligence that can be used for things like Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) to upsample games to 4K and reduce screen aliasing (jaggies) at a lower performance hit than traditional anti-aliasing.
The Pascal cards (1000 series) were allowed to run some ray tracing in software in a driver update from Nvidia months after the Turin (2000 series) releases. It's just not gonna hardware accelerate any ray tracing it supports, so expect an even worse slide show than the lowly RTX 2060.
