Game Boosters, snake oil or . . . . ?

Good morning all,

I am running TS2020 at 64bit on the MASTER DETAILMEDIUM setting

This gives me a balanced (for me and my notebook) experience and I am enjoying the game.

But of course I would like to squeeze everything possible out of my system.

Do you guys and galls have an opinion about / experience with tools like:

I must say I do find it kind of annoying to shut down all the windows services by hand. :-)

If your computer is remotely modern and up-to-snuff in terms of specs, killing WIndows services is completely unnecessary.

Well . . . . . at least it gives me the feeling the game runs better :-)

I did not listen to Plethaus his sound advice and kept wondering what the commercial version of Smart Game Booster would do for my system (specs below) running TS2020.

So I paid the 10$ for the advanced version and according to the task manager it did free up a noticeable amount of RAM and a tiny bit of CPU.

That sounds great !!!!

In-game I did not notice any differences though.

Well . . . . . ., but at least on paper it should be faster and smoother . . . . . . . . yeah right

After doing lots of runs and comparing Shift-Z FPS results it turned out that using game booster consistently resulted in 1 to 2 FPS less.

Asus put out a program for doing that which is free called Tweak GPU 2 https://www.asus.com/us/site/graphics-c ... -tweak-ii/ I did use it for a while but don't now. Not sure what card it would work on outside Asus cards.

Bottleneck of my system is the integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics "card".

Is good enough to enjoy TS2020 big time! But for better graphics, and a dedicated card, I need to go from 13" to 15" laptop.

At the moment I would like to stick with this small and handy machine.

Intel does have a settings utility available and a set it up to leave all settings to TS2020 and not enforce anything by default.

There are settings within Windows that may help. Go to settings ,Display, scroll down to Graphics Settings, Reduce latency on. Under Choose an app to set preference set Desktop app then, using the browse button add Railworks.64.exe, Railworks.exe, and TSWprotype.exe, Set all the options to high performance. I have been led to believe that this works with the discrete as well as with the integrated graphics.
