Doublecheck what is installed - 32 or 64 bit ?

Unread postby Cardinal51 » Mon Jun 15, 2020 3:32 am

Good morning all,

I have a 64bit laptop and as far as I know I installed 64bit TS2020

But this morning, when starting up TS2020, there was an image of a train popping up (very briefly) with the text "32bit"

How do I double check I indeed have the 64bit version of TS2020 installed and not the 32bit ?

Above image pops up every now abd then after clicking the Tran Simulator short cut (also visible)

That pop up shows 32 bits.

When the game has launched, the Settings window shows the version running.

When you start the game through Steam, isn’t there a pop up offering you to select 32or 64 bits?

In any event there is a RailWorks.exe and a RailWorks64.exe both in the RailWorks folder. I just made a shortcut to the 64 one and put it on my desktop. The 32 bit one is the one that starts by default. If you start it from your Steam page I believe it gives you the option there.

Edwin. You are right, running through Steam gives me the option

Buzz. I renamed the RailWorks.exe to OLD_RailWorks.exe and corrected my shortcut to point to RailWorks64.exe

You guys nailed it. THANKS !

Do remember if there is a major update or you verify the game files you will have to repeat the process again :D
