Steam issue

Unread postby SAR704 » Thu Jan 23, 2020 8:23 am

After having some OS (operating system) issues, Windows had to be reinstalled. I had the Steam games that were installed at the time backed up on a USB drive, as well as the actual Steam folder.

I copied the Steam folder to the one on this computer without letting it overwrite files. I them ran Steam, let it do it's update. But now for several days, I have not been able to load the store, library, community, or profile panes in Steam for days. Nor have I been able to load the list of installed games. It just shows a blank screen.

I have searched on the internet for a fix to this to no avail. I would like to ask if anybody on this forum has had this problem and managed to resolve it.

Edit: The games installed still run through the .exe start menu shortcuts (using 'Classic Shell').

I just had to do this,

First, I reinstalled Steam and then let it reinstall Train Simulator.

Second, I copied my Railworks folder backup over the Railworks folder that was just created. I let it overwrite files.

Everything is working fine at this end. Then again sometimes I wonder if I know exactly how everything should work.
