MDMP file

I have a question about this file -- MDMP and it's about Railworks crash information. Who do I send the MDMP file to DoveTail Games or Steam support for investigating the crash information.

Thank you,

John

I wish I know how to open the file in MDMP but only Micorosft or Steam or DoveTail Support can. The purpose is that when I log in with my Steam account and that part is no problem then pick the route with scenario. That part got crash back to Steam login. Only DTG Route Addons and Workshop routes are working. The one I can tell you that happen to me got crashed is OHIO Routes Final. I had this route for a while with no problem till recently. So I wonder if that MDMP file will tell you what is the problem with this route or something with RailWorks. That's all I know with this.

You could run the Windows debug tool - but it would tell you very little!
WHY? You do not have the TS2018 source code and you would need that to identify the issue.

Have you tried LOGMATE?
Also windows event viewer or reliability history (Google)

I have seen quite a few of the members here in this forum are talking about LogMate. I would like to try but what do I do after Train Simulator crash? Also what file do I look for to see what caused the program crash in LogMate.

Thank you again,

John

Google logmate in Train Simulator. First: https://dovetailgames.kayako.com/knowle ... -i-do-this
Run it when starting TS and post the log when you have a crash, some one will be able to comment on the error.
This would help me identify a possible cause:

Open Reliability History in Windows - click on the white cross in the red circle at the time of the crash. Is there a critical error for railworks.exe OR for windows (eg explorer)?
Click on view technical details.
What does it say for the following (if present)

Faulting application name:
Faulting module name:
Exception code:
Fault offset:
Faulting process id:
Faulting application path:
Faulting module path:
Report Id:
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

And here is the logmate file in zip if anyone want to see what is the problem with this route, CSX Ohio Route. I noticed that there is several blueprint set missing in Assets also the top seven lines with RunTime erro too. Should I send this to DoveTail Support or not because this route is third party route which I download from here in the file library. Anyway tell me what to do with this to fix this route because of crash back to Steam login.

Thank you,

John

DTG will probably not help as it is not their DLC.
One error that stands out - PONTRACK.bin file - that needs deleting Search RWA for why that should be deleted.

[RunTimeError 3:46:01 PM] cBlueprintSet::loadFile File exists in blueprint set, but is not a valid blueprint: RailNetwork\TrackRules\PONtrack.bin

I have a question about PONtrack.bin and how long will this search to find the PONtrack.bin in Railworks.

It already took more than four hours to search this and I don't think that will take toooooooooo long to search this bin file.

Mine is D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Railworks

I type " del/S PONtrack.bin " without quotation marks in search box on top right corner.

Is that correct to search in Railworks folder and search words too.

Let me know about this.

John

John
That should delete the file OK
You can search the railworks folder to find it, but your del/s should ind it in every folder/subfolder of \railworks
PONtrack.bin is usually in the D:\STEAM\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailNetwork\TrackRules, if I remember correctly but there maybe other instances also.

OK Peter and thanks for your recent message. And I will leave my desktop keep running for a few more hours for searching PONtrack.bin and then will shut down later.

Take care,

John

John, i usually just search for ' pontrack ' in my Railworks directory. The length of time you are describing seems quite odd.

See Peter's post above for the frequent location of the file.

John,
This is incorrect.
Don't type "del/S PONtrack.bin" in the search box.
Just type "PONtrack.bin".
Start the search in your railworks folder.
The search should take only a few minutes, not hours.
