Unless you have a pretty old or lower performance card and need to upgrade, there is no good reason to get a 20xx-series card. I'd say wait for the 21xx-series. These appear to have too small of a leap in performance over last gen to justify buying them. The ray-tracing components will only have a handful of initial titles in the first year to work with. And even then it will be interesting to see what level of frame rate it can maintain and what sacrifices will need to be made on other graphics effects. The amount of objects that populate the world, along with the poly counts..... will likely be affected. My GTX 1080 should be just fine to use for the foreseeable future. I'll pass.
