New graphics card issue

I just had a GTX 1060 put in this tower, and yet websites like https://www.systemrequirementslab.com still bring up results that indicate that I have the old Radeon 4800 series card installed.

I typed in dxdiag in the search bar and it shows the new graphics card. The problem is that programs like TS2018, American Truck Simulator, still run as though they have the old Radeon installed. It looks as though there has been no change of display at all, excluding the higher resolution with my new monitor.

What do I do in order to get some value for money out of this card I just had installed? Is it possible that I have had the graphics card disabled the whole time, and it's been running on some built in card?

What's it look like when you look here? Then go into the 1060 and see if the drivers look like they are installed. Let us know what you find.

Did you remove the AMD Drivers?
You need to make sure that you removed the AMD drivers. You can do this via Windows or some 3rd party free software.
Then, download the latest driver from Nvidia (not necessarily the driver that came with the card), on install choose custom install and select clean install. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
Do not install 3D drivers or sound driver unless needed. GeForce Experience can be downloaded but Google to see if its any use to you.
Then follow Buzz's post above.

Download the latest drivers for your new card so you have them ready. Uninstall your AMD drivers using the program linked above. Then install your new drivers. Hope this helps.

I would say GeForce experience is useful to everyone since you can configure it to look for new drivers and keep your system up to date.

Yes Geforce Experience also configures supported games that you own for the best settings. Alas TS2018 is not one of them. I do have other games on my PC that are supported.
