New Monitor

It's time for a new monitor. I had been leaning toward getting a 29" ultrawide (2560x1080) thinking it would be good for Train Simulator, American Truck Simulator and working on side by side documents. I currently have a 24", 1920x1200 monitor so I would be loosing a little height. I've recently been considering a 27", 2560x1440 monitor instead for the extra resolution. And no, I don't have room for a 34", 1440 ultrawide!
Either way I'll be upgrading my ancient and honorable 560Ti for some variety of 1060.
Any opinions on either of these two options would be appreciated. Also, I'm not sure about the importance of the refresh rate. Is a higher rate important to TS or ATS?
Thanks!

It's not mine, it's my buddy's. He's not married now, whole house is the man cave.

I do iRacing so you still need the three monitors. It's three separate images, not one big one. You'd need three of those things then.

Mine’s a27” Samsung, but 4k res. If I was to do it over again, I would opt for a much bigger display. The 4k makes things ultra tiny on apps without the means to increase icons or text (Photoshop CS2, for example). Browser viewing or playing games is just fine, however, especially ATS and TS.

I have a 2560x1440, 27" monitor that will be delivered today. I'll hopefully have time to set it up tonight!

When I had a computer room and money, I would have bought this for sure.
Now it's the kid's bedroom and.... yeah.
