Strange Problem with Windows 10

My Asus Desktop stopped updating on May 9 of this year. After three chats with Windows 10 techs, several MS tools, and a conversation with an Asus tech, they have concluded that my desktop is not compatible with Windows 10. The desktop had Win8 factory installed and it eventually stopped installing windows updates similar to Win10. Based on numerous online forums, this is a widespread issue with several brands of machines.

I was wondering if changing out the motherboard might correct the issues. Any ideas?

your processor is at end of life 3rd generation Ivybridge. It uses an LGA1155 socket. There are MBs still out there with this socket. Depending on finances you may want to build one centered around a Generation 7 I7 chip. Proprietary cases can have issues with connectors and fit. Find a MB you like and download and read the manual before you order. I don't see a GPU listed are you using on board graphics?

Did you check your motherboard compatibility here: https://www.asus.com/microsite/mb/Windows_10/
What was the result?
It may not be a compatibility issue but a failed upgrade - so a clean install may fix the issue (Google)

Last Windows 10 update I had was May 10th. Windows monthly update always happens around about this date. I have a 5 year old computer with an Asus MB ASUS P8Z68-V LE Intel Z68 DDR3 USB3+SATA3 LGA1155 PCI-E and have no issues. Mine is not on that Asus list but is OK.

Is there any optional updates that you have not installed? The reason, I ask is because on my install of Windows 8.1. Windows Update would never receive any updates despite checking month after month. I installed most of the optional updates, and it started acting normally.
