Sudden Power Loss

Unread postby bpetit » Tue Apr 25, 2017 1:57 pm

While, I was browsing Google Maps of all things. It just stopped working. No BSOD, or anything. I still had power to the keyboard, speakers, and monitor but neither the GPU or CPU fan was spinning. I cleaned it yesterday.

Probably a power supply issue. Make sure the plug is secure at the PSU (power supply unit) and if it has a switch it is turned on. Check that all connectors from the PSU are connected to the appropriate connections. I have seen where people have dislodged connections and even the CPU with a vacuum nozzle. Most common is PSU or CPU failure. Try swapping with a known good PSU if possible.

Good luck

Ah, I figured I dislodged a connector slightly. I have not had any problems since seating the connections again.
