PHYSX ---> CPU ??

Unread postby cnbalasub » Sat Feb 25, 2017 10:29 pm

I see the word on top left corner of my Train Simulator 2017 on my LED monitor while simulating the route and scenario. I am new with Nvidia graphic card on my desktop. The graphic card is Geforce GTX 960 2GB. Yes I did googled this about what to do with this line to turn off. But have some questions to ask first before doing to turn off in Nvidia Control Panel. Anyway inside Nvidia Control Panel I see 3D Settings. Look below:

Nvidia Control Panel
3D Settings > Configure Surround, PhysX
PhysX settings
Processor:
Auto-select (recommend)
Geforce GTX 960
CPU

In Google that I found said that I should turn off the CPU and I didn't select this but the one is selected with " Auto-Select " But the problem is that I can see the words on my monitor with PHYSX ---> CPU with " auto-select " applied in 3D Settings under Nvidia Control Paenl. Also Google said that PHYSX should be with GPU but I don't see any of this with the word GPU in Nviida Control Panel.
What is the best for my graphic card, Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 and Train Simulator 2017 in Processor selection under 3D Settings?

Thank you,

John

This simulation has the Phys-X on the CPU not the GPU. Just leave it on Auto.
Also, if you want to change anything, go to "Manage 3D Settings" and "Program Settings" tab. Look for Train Simulator there and adjust the settings.

You should also go into the video settings near the bottom of the list in the left sidebar and make sure it's set for full quality under the advanced tab, otherwise the video playback on You Tube etc will look horrible.

Want to say thank you to Ericmopar for your explanation about this. I have another question and this time it's about the words showing on the monitor screen with PHYSX --> CPU whiie simulating one of the route and scenario. I would like to turn this off completely with not showing the words on the monitor. Where is in Nvidia Control Panel to turn off the line with words?

Thank you again,

John

That would be the Phys-X in game display.
You can toggle it off or on.
Open Nvidia Control Panel.
In the upper left of the toolbar, click on "3D Settings" in that drop down menu, you will see an option to turn on or off the Phys-X display in game.
