Waaaaayyyyyy off topic. (other video games)

Unread postby thecanadianrail » Sat Feb 12, 2011 8:20 pm

this may have nothing to do with Railworks but i was wondering if any of you play the game World In Conflict??? if any of you do can you let me know because there is not many people left playing.

or even the game Sid Meier's Railroads for that matter?

these are 2 of the 4 games i am currently playing and those 2 have almost nobody online! (probably because they are around 5-6 years old) i would like to play online but the people who still play are so good there is no way to win. !*not-ok*!

In the evenings, I play Arma2 Combined Operations. There are usually 10-15 players on-line.
A good group of blokes, !!*ok*!!
Try the demo.

I used to play World in Conflict, but not online. I also have ArmA 2 CO, but didn't play multiplayer. :D
What I mainly play online is COD: Black OPS on my PS3.

I've played a lot of good games, but in my opinion the Ending of World in Conflict is one of the best I've ever seen.
It's a simple ending, but with great music. After you've kicked the Commies out of the USA and after all the hard battles, you hear the music and you are absolutely happy. !*brav*!

I still run XP and I just set it to Win 98 compatability mode, or Win 95. I don't recall now.
It does have a few problems every once in a while though, same with Carnivores 2. Ice Age (Carnivores 3) plays fine though. No problems at all.

I've got the game last month from a games magazine and finished it, and yeah that end sequence is pretty nice but there are more memorable ones out there, e.g. Mafia 1
Haven't tried online, only a few skirmish matches against AI but it's still installed so I might give it a try.

Apart from that I started Fallout New Vegas today and am still sitting on The Witcher - ran into some dead end and didn't know further and played too much fantasy last year so FNV is just a good alternative. If only it had less bugs in it, and no I'm not speaking of the monsters in the game. Once in a while I relax a bit in Anno 1404 (or 1404 AD I believe it's called in the international version) and Tropico 3. Waiting for Cities in Motion and OMSI next week, but those are probably not much interesting for you overseas folks.

If you guys want a really good co-op shooter, check out Killing Floor. It's available on Steam and it's easily one of the best indie games you're likely to find. I've had it for over a year now and I still play it regularly.

Other than that and RailWorks, you can find me playing Modern Warfare 2 on PC occasionally, Counter Strike Source, Quake, Doom and Starcraft 2.

The problem with killing floor is that it's only available as a censored version through German Steam. **!!bang!!**
This keeps me from buying and I must play Left4Dead if I want to kill some zombies.

(It's the other way round in Germany with the censorship than in the US: Nudity is allowed, to much violence will be cut out of the game. !*don-know!* )

That's too bad. Half the fun of Killing Floor is the extreme violence *!greengrin!*

I've always been pretty heavily against censorship. I understand why many parents would want it but honestly, they should be making sure their little kids aren't playing that kind of stuff in the first place. The government shouldn't have to babysit their kids for them !*not-ok*!
