Trainz on the Move!

Unread postby _o_OOOO_oo-Kanawha » Fri Feb 19, 2016 10:35 am

Recently, there has been an invasion of T:ANE/Trainz locomotives and trains into the Steam store.

Also, a ready-to-run " light" version of T:ANE is being offered, that doesn't come with any creative tools, just the routes and trains: Trainz Driver 2016
http://store.steampowered.com/app/423460

Finally, according the N3V, the remaining Trainz 12 content, including Mojave Sub, Wilmington-Philadelphia NEC and the excellent Eastern European trains and routes are being ported to T:ANE/TzDr2016. Note that these routes are ported only, not upgraded to T:ANE standards.
Apparently free to existing owners participating in the beta testing of T:ANE SP1?

Three new USA DLC have been announced as well, including a Kicking Horse Pass route that is probably equal to Canadian Mountain Pass from Railworks.

I got this from the N3V subscription list, I haven't found a web page with these announcements yet.

Why are you posting this here since this forum is about Train Simulator?

Variety is the spice of life!

Technical simulators might appeal to those who enjoy train simulators, trucks, etc.

One of the fortes of T:ANE is the relative ease of route building. Skills acquired on T:ANE might come in handy for those who wish to create routes for Railworks.

This is the Geek Speak forum, or have I miss posted inadvertently?

From the rules and guidelines.
This forum is a dedicated Railworks forum and as such, we request that everybody stay within the spirit of the Goals & Mission.
We ask that references or comparisons to other sims be minimized and kept in context with a positive attitude, or not used at all, so we can keep this experience a positive one.

There is no "Surveyor" mode to build routes.

Trainz Driver is a neutered version of T:ANE with no content manager to add new content other than the DLC.

Just run trains and buy DLC.

None of the TS12 built-in routes are worth owning other than Mojave.

Have the whole Canadian package for TS12 and wasn't worth the money.

That is being positive.

Then you had better speak with Bob cuz he STARTED a thread less than a year ago called "Trainz: A New Era" that spans for 6 pages, 88 posts and is still open for new posts to this day.....

viewtopic.php?f=61&t=13692

I think _o_OOOO_oo-Kanawha followed the letter of the rule quite well. He made a MINIMAL neutral comparison to Railworks..... "a Kicking Horse Pass route that is probably equal to Canadian Mountain Pass from Railworks". He kept a positive attitude and was simply informing people that don't have the latest Trainz that there is now a new, cheaper option available to them along with telling people that some older routes are being ported over.

He might possibly of made the thread in the wrong section or should have posted it in Bob's thread instead.....but break the rule? He did not. **!!2cents!!**
