Info about Best Gaming Computers for Train Simulator and War Thunder?

Unread postby ColoradoRailfan » Sat Nov 28, 2015 3:03 pm

Hi all, Christmas is coming up and my HP laptop is getting old and it is not running games at good settings at good FPS, so it's time I find some ideas to use so I can get another PC.
I am looking to build a PC for under $1,000 USD. I don't know a lot about PC's. I heard using a laptop is not a good idea for gaming. I would want to run games such as TS2016 and War Thunder on high graphics.
For War Thunder I would want Max graphics settings running at around 100 FPS. For TS2016, high graphic settings running around 60-80 fps on high scenery dense routes like Stevens Pass, and the BNSF Racetrack.
Any ideas on what stuff I would need to get?

Obviously, but that doesn't help me at all.

Well someone else might have a suggestion but unless you want to build it yourself I don't see anything that will do what you want for under 1K.

Alright, thanks. What if I don't want Windows 10? Is there any way I could downgrade to Windows 8 or even Windows 7? I already have a LED monitor. Would a I7 core processor of some kind work?

Also I can go up to around $1500 now.

And that is about $1100 just for the parts. Trev didn't mention that you also need a motherboard.

Yes you can still purchase Win7. And I wasn't trying to be a wise guy. You just save some money if you build it yourself.

Its ok but like I said I do not know a lot about computers. An idea for a motherboard, would a Asus Maximus Formula ATX LGA 775/ Socket T work or would something else be recommended?

This will start the Ford vs, Chevy argument I'm sure but I have a MSI Z97 gaming 5 and am very satisfied with it. I am no expert and don't claim to be.

If you look at my post under this one about my computer crash, the system I listed in there was $1300 on Black Friday sale. Monday is Cyber Monday, you might want to shop at Best Buy too. The system I bought is no longer available however which I hope is not a bad thing.
