Anyone Around Here using a Linux Distro?

I'm asking because I don't like the Boot Manager that comes with the latest Ubuntu and was wondering about alternatives for a graphical user interface for Grub II.

Not a malfunction, I just don't like the default boot order.
I'd like to set it up, so if you just push the power on button and walk away to get a snack or drink, that Windows will boot by default instead of Ubuntu.
The hacks I've been finding online on how to modify it don't seem to work. I'm suspicious that people aren't proof reading the commands they are posting for the Linux terminal to change things in the Grub2 Boot Manager.
I also learned tonight, that some commands in the Terminal need quotes, where as the Command Prompt in Windows doesn't like the quotes...
However, not all commands posted for the terminal are supposed to use the quotes...

I don't care what the Linux fanboys say, Linux still needs a lot of commands entered manually to do things.
Even people in the PC press say the treatment of Windows OS in the Grub boot manager reflect on the Linux developers hatred of Microsoft.
It wouldn't be that hard to add a little way to move the Grub2 entries while in edit mode and change the default OS or boot order.

It's been a few years since I dual booted as I have Ubuntu on my old laptop (and purrs along nicely) and my mythtv box. If I need to do things from a linux way of thinking I use Cygwin on my Windows machines (as I do at work where we use Red Hat).

So... do you have a preferred desktop environment?
I love the Ubuntu 15.04 core program, it works far better than other distros I've been trying with my MSI Z77A-GD65 motherboard, in fact I can't even boot a live DVD with Mint, but I'm looking at Desktops like Gnome or Mate, but installed on the new Vivid Vervet Ubuntu core.
I found out there is a program called "Grub Customiser" but I don't know if it will work well with Vivid Vervet and my Unity desktop.

Just answering the title question: Yes, I have Kali, and it looks amazing with KDE.

I'm actually okay with Ubuntu right now.
I found something called Cairo Dock and also Classic Menu that I like. However the Classic Menu button was obsolete almost as fast as I installed it, since Cairo Dock already had a power/log out and Classic Menu button by default.

I have learned some very strange things about Linux distros. One is that a "live DVD" session can actually install a unwanted DE... The first time this happened I thought I made a mistake, but the second and third time I had a enough experience to know I didn't do it.
This didn't happen when I just had Windows installed and was trying out Live DVDs, it only affected my installed Ubuntu 14.04.
In any case I really like the XFce desktop, but I found out really quickly from reading and a little practical experience with it, that it suffers terribly from screen tearing in videos and even text.
Most people say the "fixes" for the screen tearing don't work.
My workaround is the Cairo Dock for Ubuntu Unity, which not only lets me move the launch icons were I want them, but adds things like click and dragging program icons to the desktop. I simply check the option in the settings to hide the Unity Launcher now.
I still wish I could move the Window controls to the right and drag the menu bar to the bottom of the screen, but alas Ubuntu locked them starting with 14.04.

This is interesting.
I just found out Cairo Dock has it's own version of Gnome DE that it includes. It gets rid of the redundant Menu Bar at the top. To find accidentally, just log out and pick which one...
That being said, I like their version of Gnome DE, but may go back to the Unity, Cairo hybrid instead, since if gives me benefits of both.
