I just want to add for any PC novices that read this thread.
USB 2.0 devices will run on USB 3.0 ports, they are "backwards compatible" however the USB 2.0 device will still run at 2.0 speeds.
Where USB 3.0 really shines, is when you have an external backup drive connected. Writes and Reads to a USB3.0 external drive, on a 3.0 USB port, will be much faster than an older USB 2.0 external drive.
