I'm customizing my new computer and I have a choice of using 1 Nvidia 980 card or 2 Nvidia 970's in SLI mode. What do you people that know about computers suggest?

I'm getting to be a little crazy in my Senior years
I invested in two Nvidia 9800 GTX graphic cards with SLI in 2009 and never saw any difference with SLI on or off. Most games seem to just ignore it. In addition, because I use 3 monitors, the hassle of switching SLI on and off every time I played a game was annoying. I stopped using SLI after a few weeks. I don't know if more modern cards would achieve better results.
With TS2015, even running video on one card and Physix on the other card brings no noticeable performance gain.
Since driver 344.xx NVidia have added SLI profile for TS 2015 so it could be that two cards will work better than just one, but remember 1 x GTX 980 may be better than or equal to 2 x GTX 970's - so its going to be a toss up to see what works best. pH
Thanks for the advice Peter. I'm going to just stick with the 980 after hearing all the opinions. My ts2015 runs very well on this computer but this one is about seven years old and has a first generation Intel i7 and a 650 video card. I'm sure there will be an improvement with the new setup. I'm still having problems with my operating system since I was hacked.
