Graphics Card Recommendations

I want to upgrade to a GPU with 2 GB memory. Currently, I have a PNY GTX 650 with 1 GB memory, and 128 bit memory interface.

The EVGA GTX 750ti with 2 GB memory, and 128 bit memory interface can be had for $143. Does the "ti" designation make a difference, as I know the second number for both cards is the same, i.e. number 5?

The rest of my rig is a follows:

Dell Inspiron 660

Windows 7 64 Bit Professional

Intel Core i3 3240

8 GB DDR3

Rosewill 650 Watt PSU

Samsung 21" monitor.

I have a GTX 750 TI on a 24" Dell Monitor and it works well.
This card is fairly unique as it does not require a separate power supply connection it gets its power just from the motherboard.
Just one caveat it is a first order Maxwell card with the later cards being the GTX 960, 970, 980, etc and so in my opinion a card in the GTX 9xx series would perform slightly better.
Having said that the GTX750TI is a great card and displays TS2015 at fairly high settings.

Circa 1999 this term has been used by NVIDIA to indicate a higher level version of the same card eg 560 vs 560ti, 780 vs 780ti etc. In the latest generation of cards we now have the gtx 750 recently appearing with it's ti version. Ti is also short for Titanium on the periodic table but other than marketing purposes I do not have any data to support the use of this material in their gpus. Cu is short for copper and you do see that on some models which I do believe utilize copper parts but again not sure if that's concidental or for marketing but that's another topic.
The more important part to answering your question is that there are signficiant differences that may or may not be valuable to you at this price range:

As I am reading this I am waiting for UPS to deliver my GTX 750 TI. I have a GTX 550 TI now that has worked well with TS2015, but wanted something with some more ram, so I could crank the settings up a bit higher.

My cpu runs at 3.4GHz, with 16GB 1800Mhz RAM, 256GB SSD, on a Gigabyte Mobo, and with the GTX 750TI I get smooth frame rates (not huge numbers wrt fps ie <30) in TS2015 using just the TS2015 settings with most sliders to the right or nearly to the right and AF 8x and FSAA + 2x 2 SSAA (Low shadows, No Bloom, No DOF no Lens Flare). The visuals are excellent and I only get the stutter at known tile boundaries.
It will vary according to your set up.

Ran two scenarios tonight after installing the card and increasing the graphics quality in TS2015. Very smooth and frame rates around 35-40, even at the higher settings. Very happy with this card.

Really loving this GTX 750 TI after running it a few days. On many routes I am getting 60- 70 FPS, and the video looks so much better than it did with my GTX 550 TI which it replaced> Excellent GPU.
