Yeah... pretty much any darn settings you want with that card. The 1st gen i7 CPU isn't going to be much of a factor in this sim.
So yeah.... pretty much max it out.
Although keep this in mind..... with all things maxed including 3x3 SSAA in cab view, on
imnew's 3rd gen i7 with a GTX 980 he said he got 20fps and at 8xMSAA he got 22fps... both in Delta Yard on Stevens Pass with the BNSF+ 60 Woodchip Gondolas. That location on that route in quick drive is the ultimate hardware crusher benchmark test in Railworks. Just brings rigs to their knees.
He said he gets 42-44 fps on Delta Yard using his custom Nvidia control panel settings and the shadows slider to the lowest and at 2x2 SSAA. I tried his Nvidia settings and they either did nothing or made frame rates a little worse than on default Nvidia setting on my GTX 850M. I suspect the shadow slider all the way down was the biggest factor in attaining that high frame rate. It always has been a big fps booster... especially with dynamic lighting (TSX) ON.
But on most other routes (at least the USA routes), you should be able to go 3x3 SSAA and everything on max and pretty much get 30+ frames with that 980 card. I'd split the difference and go with 2x2 SSAA myself. A nice middle ground of quality vs. performance.
