Windows 10 Preview and TS2015

I have been running Windows 10 Technical Preview 64-bit Evaluation copy, (latest Build 9926) with TS2015 for about 4 weeks and have found no issues.
I have not seen any improvements with frame rates or with visual quality, nor have I seen any worsening of these effects.
I installed Windows 10 over Windows 7 and now have the option of booting into either and rolling back to Windows 7 if required.
Cpu usage, RAM usage and VRAM usage seem to be the same as in Windows 8.1 but better than Windows7.
Baseline CPU usage is 1 - 3% in Win 10 about the same in Win 7/8, however RAM usage in Windows 7 is about 20 - 25% in Windows 10 around 14 - 18%, - significant but I did not see any performance gain!!
All my drivers, printers, video cards, network, etc have worked OK without issue.
Overall the desktop has been tidied up, and if you know ins and outs of Windows 8, then you will find Win 10 easy, much more like Win 7.
STEAM has not been affected in any way and I have made purchases of new DLC without any problems.
The OS is stable, no crashes, BSOD, etc - it looks like (when released finally) it will be another OS improvement over previous versions.

Just a few notes in case you were thinking about trying Windows 10 - its free and painless.

Thanks Peter. I am planning on upgrading the hardware of my aged system around the time Win 10 comes out, and hearing your report takes a few worries off my mind.

I just looked at the Windows 10 Technical Preview site and found this, which seems to contradict some of what Peter wrote:

Remember, trying out an early build like this can be risky. That's why we recommend that you don't install the preview on your primary home or business PC. Unexpected PC crashes could damage or even delete your files, so you should back up everything.

If you want to stop using Windows 10 Technical Preview and return to your previous version of Windows, you'll need to reinstall your previous version from the recovery or installation media that came with your PC—typically a DVD. If you don't have recovery media, you might be able to create recovery media from a recovery partition on your PC using software provided by your PC manufacturer. You'll need to do this before you upgrade. Check the support section of your PC manufacturer's website for more info.

After you install Windows 10 Technical Preview, you won’t be able to use the recovery partition on your PC to go back to your previous version of Windows.

Peter did mention installing 10 as part of a dual operating system, but there's no mention of that possibility here. How'd ya do dat, Pete???

Dual booting has been around for a long time now. I use to do it with Windows and Ubuntu, but I found less reason to do over the last few years. It is safer to dual boot than to upgrade over an existing install; however therein lies the difference. Dual booting usually means you are doing a clean install on a separate partition or physical disk. Now that doesn't mean you can't clone your working drive (say its Win 7) and then do an upgrade on that, and dual boot.

In the latest build there was an option to roll back - I guess - I hope to Win 7.
When I fire up in the morning I get a menu choice Win 10 preview or Windows roll back ( that's what I meant about "dual boot" - sorry misled you and myself there).

I should have said startup is blisteringly fast on a SSD.
The in place upgrade from Win 7 was painless - took about 2 hours. No discs necessary - the easiest install from MS yet!
No drivers including NVidia had to be reinstalled.
My Desktop and shortcuts were all preserved all worked post install.
No app or program has failed to start to date.
All printers work fine.

I had done the in-place upgrade and it worked reasonably well. I would suggest against using the Live account, as it does not have PIN support working right now and if your live password is particularly long and obnoxious (aka, mine due to LastPass generated) that gets really old typing in. You may also want to activate the administrator account in the event something does happen, as doing any type of repairs without it tends to be difficult.

Currently, I've rolled back to Win 7.

I am using Windows 10-9926 with no issues. Used an ISO file (one single file downloaded) then burning a DVD for booting it installs a sort of dual boot to let you load 7 or 10 at startup. No big changes or improvements that are obvious. Since it is free that is ok. Running TS2015, Trainz, and P3D flight sim plus Quicken, email, chrome and firefox all ok.
