Catchy tune. Wish they had something like this in the 70's. Worked on all my own cars in those days.
Trial and error. !*hp*!

We could figure it out then unlike today that unless you got one of those expensive diagnostic machines you haven't got a prayer to figure out what's wrong.

Yeah and don't forget the special tools like an 11 knuckle spark plug wrench to get behind and below whatever is in the way to get to them. I pay people to do it now, can not be bothered changing oil even. I only pump gas and top off fluids and air in the tires. Sometimes was it even. Not a slave to my car or yard. Fortunately I do not have a yard at the moment. Kerri covered it all with pavers and scenic timbers. Looks nice too! *!lol!*

I wonder if you can purchase after-market parts or perhaps you're stuck with paying more by using Car Mechanic Simulator parts only. **!!2cents!!**

What are you guys talking about? Cars tell you whats wrong with them. I've fixed my mother's and my cars and trucks for years, even the newer ones.
On my mother's Focus, I can change the oil in about 15mins, and guess what, the car now gets about 2mpg better than when Oil Changers fouled it up. Most likely with something other than the specified 5-20wt.
I put plugs in it with standard ratchet, extension and plug socket.
I've even replaced sensors, all without an expensive machine.

Now if I could just convince my mother, that there is a typo in her manual, and that good gas will not ruin her engine. When the temps get over 100F around here, good gas is in order. **!!bang!!**

What we are talking about is in my 67 Impala I could open the hood and sit in there on the wheel well and change my spark plugs in 10 minutes. Now I can not even get my hands in there in my 2001 Buick Le Sabre.

Ah, the "Good Old Days" according to my Auto Technology Teacher.

I have the smallest hands and arms in the class so I get stuck with those fixes in tight areas. (aka, everywhere) *!rolleyes!*

I'd rather have my old 1984 Monte Carlo back rather then this new junk 98 Malibu I have now, since all the Malibu likes to do is break down and really can never figure out what's wrong with it.

He needed all that time to ponder and carefully craft a masterpiece of a response. It's like Judge Reinhold at All American Burger in the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High..... "I shall serve no fries before their time". *!greengrin!*
