A zip file is what I received from the download site I went to. I'll try looking at a couple other sites to see if there download files are exe. I did try to run the exe file from within the zip file using W7 but that didn't work, so I'll also run 7z manager and see if I can just either extract or run the exe file in 7z.

Why not just install it thru Steam like Marc suggested? it's right there in the demo section. I presume, since you have this sim, you have a Steam account?

Doug - go to the Steam Store and search for Euro. Pick out the sim and on that page you'll see a link to the demo. Use that and it will install when you start Steam. As Chris said - you DO have a Steam account, right?

On another point, I began adjusting the non-linearity slider and I think it's going to be a delicate combination of the steering sensitivity and non-linearity that will make steering on the highway much easier!

I have steering sensativity maxed and non-linearity to none and that is my best setting I think

I'm just getting used to the editors, which are a throwback to the "days of DOS and dinosaurs", as Jim Ward might say. Still, there's a lot of power behind them, but would take me weeks to learn even the basics (I can zoom around and such, but too chicken to try anything else). That would be too much time taken away from Railworks, so I'll just tinker with playing the sim when the mood strikes.

I found the exe file on another site. Downloaded and installed with no problem. Didn't realize it was available on Steam. I set it up to use the keyboard and mouse, but when I tried the tutorial I couldn't steer with the mouse and found the steering with the keyboard to be to sensitive. Drove into a lamp post as soon as I left the lot.

Now that I think about it more, maybe it's the mouse wheel that you use for the steering. Gotta go and try that out.

Edit: I found the setting. It's in game controller. Now to see if I can steer this rig.

Be sure to visit the ETS2 FORUM. And once you have a desire for more cities and differing types of loads I highly recommend you look at this freeware mod. Very easy to install. Clearly a lot of TLC involved in its development. And it appears much more in the making.

Not really into the truck simulator, but I'd like to get the ship simulator soon though so I can sail the Titanic.
