I will only run an EVGA Nvidia card. They are bullet proof. I had my issues back in the day with ATI cards and their "driver dance". Very very happy with my GTX470. A GTS version compaired to a GTX is like comparing a P4 to a Celeron. Crippeled.

I got a EVGA GTX460 over the weekend. The salesguy at the store guided me towards EVGA, but he was of no help in deciding between the 550Ti and 460 (when you ask a question, and they start reading the box, it doesn't give you confidence).

The 460 is generally reviewed better than the 550ti, so you made the right choice there, even though the 550ti is the replacement for the 460.

Yeah, for me the card is quite good. The only real stutter seems to happen when you are passing an AI train, but even this isn't bad. The HSC scenarios that I haver done seem pretty decent, in fact.

Apparently the differences in performance between 550Ti and 460 aren't that great. The main difference is that the 460 cards are getting harder to find these days (I think I might have gotten the last EVGA 460, for example). But there were other brands (at a slightly higher price) where they did have 460 stock.

LOL, I feel bad for the salesmen. Try and keep up with the "latest and greatest" from all the different manufacturers.

I use New Egg. I can compare different makers products, I get a great price, and can sometimes get free shipping. There is a small Mom and Pop store close to me if I need something right away. But I won't buy components from the big brick and mortar stores anymore.

Microcenter would change your mind. It's like heaven itself inside a store. Anything you can buy on newegg, you can walk in and buy from here. And the associates actually know what they are talking about and not just scripted hip terms to make you buy stuff.

Just the heatsink section a time I was there a few months back. I couldn't even fit the whole section in frame.

OK, but, we have no Microcenter out here. Looks like a cool place, tho! Used to have Comp USA but they died (except for online) Best Buy is all we have. Or I should say "Worst Buy"

Oh, we do have Fry's but that's a 2 hour drive for me. Not to mention it's a zoo. Talk about 32 checkstands.

That's where I got my EVGA 460. And that's the store where the salesguy was reading from the box when I asked him about the differences between the 550Ti and the 460.

Love Microcenter. Have one 35 mins away using the LIRR. There are two Microcenters in CA. One in the Silicon Valley / Santa Clara and one in Orange County / Tustin. Plus their shipping isn't to bad.

2 x GTX 460 1Gbs in SLI gives me 40-70 FPS 95% of the time @ 1920x1080 on High settings, TSX and everything in game maxed out. Went from a HD 6870 to these and the best move I made.

They are slightly overclocked using the tool EVGA Precision.

Frys current selling then for $120 each after rebate.

So, I read a few post about guys who have two graphic cards and are getting great frame rates with everything maxed out. My question is, why would having two graphic cards boost your frame rate up to 40fps to 60fps?
