Wasn't any sites I went to, it was a few different video games I was playing back then. Games I had been playing for quite a while, so I knew they were safe. Doesn't really matter, you're happy with what you got, I'm happy with what I got. Like a friend told me a little while back, "we can agree to disagree, somethin' somethin' " !!*ok*!!

We can agree to disagree without being disagreeable is how it goes and that explains a lot. I have a friend who has a lot of different games on his box and he's had the same problem. I'm strictly a Railworks guy so that would be a big difference. The only place I got a warning lately is from a government site. Go figure. Maybe it was warning me about the NSA snoopers checking out my underwear or something. !*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*!

Back in the days when I had Norton it used to warn be all the time when I was on Sqwauk Box that it was a virus. Flight Sim days.

Did you ever try reinstalling the drivers for the WiFi, as Eric suggested? !*don-know!*

I have been using Norton Internet Security for over 7 years now on 5 computors. Never have a problem with anything and I go everywhere. I came to the conclusion a long time ago that free AV software was not very good, so I pay to stay safe and can do what ever I want.

I don't have the driver disc for the wifi card and i cant get in contact with the builder who made the PC for me *!embar*!

The only thing showing in device manager is the wired connection *!sad!*

Mike - a couple things. First, do you have the ability to remove the wifi card, restart the PC, shut it down, and then reinstall it and restart the PC? This will cause the "Found New Hardware" routine to run, if the PC sees the reinstallation of the card. Second, have you considered that the card simply failed, and the AVG kerfuffle has nothing to do with it except for coincidence? (I hate those red herrings...) If you can find another wifi card and install it, that may tell you which of these it relates to. Also, you could try a USB wifi dongle. I run one of these on my gaming desktop and it's terrific. Just needs a quick initial setup and it works. They're not terribly expensive... Here's an example: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/rangemax-ieee-802-11n-usb-wi-fi-adapter/8669942.p?id=1196470792213&skuId=8669942&st=usb%20wifi%20adapter&cp=1&lp=3 You can get them less expensively, this is just one of many available.
Just a few thoughts... !!det!!

Mike, this is good advice.
You can "Remove" the Wi-fi card, even if it is built-in, by right-clicking on the "My computer" icon, selecting "Manage", then choosing "Device manager". You should see at least two network cards, the wired one and the wireless one. The latter could have a yellow exclamation point, meaning there's a problem with it. Right-click on it and uninstall it, then reboot and Windows should find a "new" card and install the driver.

Also check:
- some laptops have a physical on-off switch for the wi-fi card. Mine has one, it is on the side of the laptop.
- the card could be disabled in the BIOS.

There have been more posts on this than were required to send a man to the moon. This isn't rocket science. Let's get this put to bed.

Yes, it could be a coincidence. I've had that happen before, a problem develops and I'd think it was a recent update, then find out something else is wrong with PC or even website.
If you know the model and make Mike of your wifi, you could go online and get the driver.
For cheap you can get a wifi card, internal or external.
I wish I knew where a friend of mine gets his. He gets these no name USB wifi cards that have exceptional range. We jokingly call them "Ancient Chinese Adapter".
