new grafhics cart

Unread postby AntonLchange » Sat Jan 14, 2012 3:13 am

I get me a new grafhics cart the ASUS GTX 560 direct CU II OC. Now i have all kinds of errors in RW2012.
1) it will not start at all. Somthing bad happens....
2) It will run for some time but kicks me out black screen or freezes.
3) as 2 but touching a button to change view or something freezes the game or
gives me a flat green or yellow screen or sometime a screen that looks as a verry low
resolution, say 640/480.
If i'm correct the driver is the 285.58.
All settings high. Anti alliasing off. TSX on.
Is this cart related? or driver?. Other games seems to run correct.
Anny suggestion welkom.

Ton, I just replaced my motherboard, RAM and CPU, but kept my older GTX470 graphics card. I presumed all I had to do is install new drivers. I ended up reinstalling Windows completetly to fix the issues I was having.

All I can suggest it use Driver Sweeper: http://majorgeeks.com/Driver_Sweeper_d6171.html remove all the current video drivers and install new newest WHQL ones. Don't install beta drivers.

You may also have to reinstall Steam client and RW. Save your "steamapps" folder first. That has all your Steam games in it. Paste that back in once Steam is reinstalled.
