Who is running 3480x2160

Unread postby RAILSOHIO » Tue Nov 22, 2022 8:19 pm

My Acer 32 inch monitor was the victim of a physical incident. I purchased a like-sized LG with the resolution mentioned in the header. So of course my GTX 1050 struggles. It will run,but frame rates in the 30's. I am not the kind of guy to spend $500 on a graphics card. And I do not HAVE to run that resolution all the time. I am now that guy who is asking for suggestions.

Do you have stuttering or anything? The human eye still thinks everything is good at 30 fps. All 1050's are not created equal. Which one do you have?

Buzz,I did some further testing. At 2560x1440 it will run high 30's-low 50's'. This was the resolution I was running on the Acer. The 3840 is actually closer to mid 20's. It is an MSI GTX 1050 NOT the TI,with the larger memory. I was eyeballing a GTX 2060,but now I do not think it will fit my case, will have a collision with the CPU! There may be no point in running this sim at the higher rez. I know it is about time to get a faster computer. I purchased an Asus Gaming laptop in the Summer, and really did not seem faster than this I5. So I have not used it for any route building.
