Finally Upgrading CPU

Unread postby CArailroader » Fri Jul 31, 2020 11:23 pm

Found a great price on new CPU that to me is an upgrade without having to get a new motherboard. I buily my PC around 2011 with an Intel i3-2120 at 3.3GHz on a MSI z77a-g43 motherboard. The i3 itself has no issue, but the last few years I've always wanted to upgrade and get a bit more power. But I've also never wanted to have to shell out for a new motherboard and CPU at the same time. So after talking with a friend the other night, I looked at newegg.com and low and behold they had an i5-3570 for only $73. It should arrive by the end of the week.

I already have a great GPU as I upgraded 3 years ago to an EVGA GTX 1050 ti and I have plenty of RAM at 24 GB. I'm hoping with the new CPU I'll be able to really crank up the graphics on TS20 and other games.

I bet you'll see a good increase in your overall gameplay experience. The actual FPS numbers may not jump much, but I think the smoothness of panning the camera, and animations will be much better.
