Soundcard Vs. Onboard Audio

Unread postby FHRob » Tue May 10, 2016 8:04 pm

I just bought a Sound Blaster Audigy FX soundcard. The soundcard is connected to Altec Lansing stereo speakers.

The computer features Dell onboard audio, using Conextant Smart Audio software.

The equalizer of each system is set to a gaming preset.

Despite what I thought, the winner here, at least with my current speaker system, is the Conextant onboard audio. I'm finding with the soundcard, the "jet sound" when running similar engines together is more pronounced. The DTM SD45's, when run together, have a strange "on/off" sound.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
