Windows 10 OS?

Unread postby davedingler » Wed May 13, 2015 2:51 pm

Anyone tried the Win10 Preview OS?

I've installed it as a dual boot on my computer. Must say, it is somewhat different than Win7. Haven't tried TS on it yet, just getting the feel of the system and how it works.

Dave
I use win 10 preview and it runs TS2015 fine.
I haven't found any issues with it after 1 month+ of usage.

My Windows 7 quit working so I've been using Windows 10 for my main system now but I had the newest build and then I went back to an old build on accident and now I can't use the start menu or update back again. Aside from those issues I haven't had any problems yet.

I installed W10 as the primary OS on my laptop. I have to say "meh". It's just not enough of a change from Windows 8 to warrant any kind excitement. Microsoft pushed W8, ticked just about every PC user on the planet of with it, and now they give more of the same, just with a Start Menu. I don't even miss the Start Menu anymore, why bring it back now?

I guess the days of being excited over the next big OS and all of the innovations they used to bring are over. I have to start looking at it for what it is - simply the base for running train games.

Has it occurred to you that some people did miss the Start menu? If you don't like it, you don't have to use it, but I don't understand why you would deny it to those who do like it.

Since every computer here at home and at work is running on win7, I never got used to not having a start screen and now apparently will not have to in the future.

I don't pay much attention to the quibbles of some people. Some people hung on to Windows Xp for 14 years until they were forced out by lack of support. Some people complain about every new version of TSxxxx that comes out as running poorly because they are still trying run it on an IBM Aptiva. Some people complain about everything because they can. Myself, i'm early adopter and upgrade the day it hits the shelves, I take the good or bad and adapt to it, rather than sitting around whining about the loss of this feature or the addition of that.

Anyway, my point WAS, Windows 10 is not enough a of a difference from Windows 8 to warrant a major OS change. And that much talked about Start Menu ain't like Win7 or previous versions. I'm sure there will be some people, and plenty of them, that will complain about it.
