MSE not doing it's job anymore.

I keep hearing that Microsoft Security has really taken a dive, so I decided to install the free, non trial version, of Malwarebytes.
Malwarebytes found 7 infections. !*brav*!

Just be careful, there are fake copies of Malwarebytes and other free security programs out there, so make sure you are getting it from the actual supplier, not an oddball download site.

Does Norton Internet Security do anything about malware? It's the only thing I use.

Working fine for me at home. Still does a better job than Symantec which I use over at work.

Yeah... I thought is was doing a fine job, until something else found 7 infections. They didn't slow down my PC, but it seemed... sluggish... not quite right the last three months.
Since Malwarebytes found the "infections" it's unbelievably snappy. Mostly I notice the speed when surfing the web. It made no difference to gaming.
A couple of years ago, you could run MSE and then another anti malware program just to see if it found anything. I never had a program different than MSE find anything, until now. !**duh*!!

For years a lot of PC industry leaders said MSE was fine, but they are all saying stay away from it now. Even Microsoft is saying to get something else now. !*don-know!*

In any case, I'm still using MSE as my main program, and I'm just using the free version of Malwarebytes to run a manual scan once in awhile. The free version of Malwarebytes doesn't do real time scanning, so it won't interfere with another anti virus program running.

I'm truly surprised. MSE had always worked fine in the past.
