How to speed up TS and steam?

Would anybody happen to have any small tips on how to get more fps or ram space because Railworks runs extremely slow makig my train'slag amd freeze at some points quite often, My computer will not let me download ccleaner which I use on my laptop to clean multiple files and internet cache, cookies, etc. and also uninstall potentially harmful program's but I ccan't get it on my Windows 8 !**conf**! And thanks love this site *!greengrin!*
